Insulating the added 5 or 6 classrooms to the Sonnenberg School for Blind Students.
Switzerland

ISOVER accepts the challenge of insulating the added 5 or 6 classrooms to the Sonnenberg School for Blind Students. Children who are blind or visually impaired naturally have a heightened sense of hearing, and therefore careful attention was paid the acoustical performance of the renovation.
Sonnenberg was designed in 1979, by an architectural practice in Zug, as a school and training center for the visually impaired. 30 years later, the same architectural practice was given the task of renovating and expanding the building by adding an additional storey to create 5 or 6 new classrooms, new annexes and a library. Externally, the new floor could look different from the rest of the building, but internally it must have the same layout, with corridors and classrooms identical to those of the lower floors, to help students move around.
