The project did not only concern the Cultiwall green walls systems but, in cooperation with another Dutch company, Cultilene created the entire “Afrikarium”, a jungle with 600 m² of Cultiwall, tropical trees, plants and animals.
The cooperation with Leca (Weber), who delivered the expanded clay used as a base substrate for all the planters, was unique. Each planter was filled with a 200 cm Leca, on which the growing substrate was placed.
After a full year of growing, the Cultiwall green walls created a real jungle feel and Saint-Gobain proved it ability to offer a multi-material approach in projects like this one.
Cultiwall also carried out the whole technical design in close cooperation with the Polish architect and investors. The green walls are monitored 24 hours a day by a highly sophisticated internet system thanks to many sensors we have placed in the green walls. This gives us the possibility to change settings all the way from our central computer in Holland.
