The scope of the Awards included both new build and renovation projects in the residential and non-residential sectors. The aim of the competition rewarded the most successful building projects, based on criteria such as innovation and energy efficiency and to encourage the development of construction techniques which combine comfort with respect for the environment. Saint-Gobain ISOVER wants to draw attention to the immense potential of energy savings that can be made in the construction sector.
The best winning projects have been included in the Best of Book, which is distributed to building professionals.

The best of book 2013

This book is designed to demonstrate the feasibility of ambitious projects, both architecturally and from an environmental viewpoint. It is composed of two main sections, the first covering renovation projects and the second new construction projects. Throughout the book, “Highlight” focus pages address a number of important issues in the construction and renovation processes, from total cost considerations to the importance of air tightness. It is crucial now that we take the very low-energy building concept forward, from the experimental stage to broad application throughout the building industry.
It is only by doing this that the best practices of today will become the building standards of tomorrow.
