Mag ISOVER participated in one of the redevelopment project of the Marunouchi area (Tokyo’s financial area). It stands at 157m, with 34 floors, and 4 basement levels. The low-rise brick building was originally designed and built for this lot in 1894 and went on to become a landmark of the Marunouchi district. Its independent structure and classical design gives a sense of comfort and ease in this steel and glass dominated area. In the original structure, the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum special exhibitions and collection of works are based on the distinctive geographical and historical features of the building and its location. In order to keep the historic brick building, the structures & function were modernized, refurbished and restored with the latest insulation and other construction technologies. However, the original bricks, moldings and other Meiji &Taisho eras (1868-1926) decorative features were kept or reused throughout the building to harmonize its history with modern times.
