About IsoverAn innovative insulation supplier

For the past 70 years, Saint-Gobain Isover Research has striven to provide increasingly effective insulation solutions, capable of responding to the growing requirements of regulations and customer demand for comfort and energy savings.

Ever more insulating materials

With an equivalent wall thickness (for example 35 cm), it is possible to vary the wall’s general performance (better thermal resistance) by choosing insulating materials with a lower thermal conductivity (lambda).
Dozens of patents each year improve the thermal performance of our mineral wool products. For the past 10 years for example, the thermal performance of glass wool has improved by 25 %. By reducing from lambda 40 to lambda 30, 15 cm of ISOVER wool now provides as much insulation as wool 20 cm thick.

Innovative solutions and systems

Over and above the features and performance of the insulating material, an overall picture is needed to take into account all the quality of the building’s envelope. Excessive thermal bridges and insufficient air-sealing are responsible for major losses, over-consumption of energy and problems on the building structure (black marks, damp, etc.).
The quality of the implementation of insulation is therefore key to energy performance. That is why Saint-Gobain Isover develops complete insulation systems which, besides the actual insulating material, include laying and fixing accessories as well as implementation recommendations and specifications. The main systems used are Optima (wall insulation), Intégra Vario (rafter insulation), Insulsafe (attic space insulation), Cladisol (metal cladding insulation), Climaver (self-supporting air-conditioning ducts) and Technostar (very high performance acoustic partition).

Our products

  • Every year, 80% of our products are improved, 20% are innovations
  • Since 1st January 2003, all Isover products in mineral wool and polystyrene sold in the EU carry the EC label certifying their compliance with norms for these products in Europe.
