About IsoverAn innovative insulation supplier
Continuous improvement of production processes
In the US, in France and in Germany, the Saint Gobain Isover research and development centers constantly work on the improvement of our technologies
At the heart of technology
Invented in 1957, the “TEL” glasswool production process revolutionised the insulation world. In 1981, Isover launched the second generation of glasswool (TELSTAR) which has since become a global reference.
In 2003, the TEL process was once more upgraded to offer enhanced thermal performance.
In 2004, Isover launched ULTIMATE, an innovative product range resisting a temperature of 650°C, which maintaining the specific advantages of conventional glasswool: lightness, elasticity for draught proofing and compression for transport.
Research: the spearhead of progress
With the support of Saint-Gobain, Isover constantly drives its technology forward to offer a range of efficient materials adapted to each of its customers’ requirements. Since 1999, the 3 Research and Development Centres (France, USA and Germany) have worked on the 2I project (Isover International) to pool together work methods and communication tools to innovate better and faster.
Today almost 270 engineers and technicians, international thermal, acoustics, mechanical and fire specialists, improve current processes, constantly develop higher performing and more environment-friendly products and systems. Working closely with each subsidiary and Isover licensed company, they develop the insulation systems of the future.
