  • Inaguration of Saint-Gobain Isover Chemillé Plant

    On April 14, Pierre-André de Chalendar, Chief Executive Officer of Saint-Gobain, officially opened the Saint-Gobain Isover (Construction Products) plant in Chemillé (France), in the presence of the French Prime Minister François Fillon. The Grenelle Committee members for Buildings and several hundred customers also attended the ceremony.

    This is the fourth Saint-Gobain Isover site in France that uses natural and recyclable materials to manufacture mineral wool with the G3 triple-guarantee: performance, health and the environment . Built in accordance with the HQE® approach, the plant is exemplary in terms of its environmental performance with savings in water, energy and raw material consumption and less waste produced.

  • New Technical Academy in Ireland

    Saint-Gobain's new Technical Academy in Ireland was officially opened by An Taoiseach Brian Cowen (Irish Prime Minister) at Kingscourt, Co. Cavan on the 6th of May.
    The Saint-Gobain Technical Academy was a collective effort by all the major construction product brands in Ireland and will be used by the flagship brands Gyproc, Isover, Weber, PAM and Ecophon. Each of these brands hold market leading or strong market positions in Ireland and the academy will be utilised to support and develop these market positions.

  • A new international corporate film for the Insulation Activity

    The International Insulation Marketing Department (Construction Products) has released a new corporate film to demonstrate its leadership in sustainable insulation solutions (mineral wool and polystyrene). The short film is available in English and in a subtitled version in nine other languages (Czech, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Slovak and Spanish).

  • Saint-Gobain reinforces it's position in Japan

    Saint-Gobain has reinforced its position in Insulation in Japan through the acquisition of the 43.7% stake owned by the Japanese group Taiheiyo Cement Corporation in the company MAG. Following this transaction, which has received the agreement of the Japanese competition authorities, Saint-Gobain now owns 87.3% of MAG’s shareholders’ equity.
